Happy New Year, 2022!

Why is it when we are younger days seem to drag, but as we grow older they seem gone in the blink of an eye? 2021 was one of those blinks.

As I am sitting here typing, I can’t help but think how yesterday felt like I was sitting downstairs in the news studio waiting to run camera for the 11pm newscast, then of course, race to the boyfriend’s house for my first REAL kiss at midnight on New Year’s!! An entire amazing year gone in a matter of one blink. Or one kiss, if I may…

2021 might be described as hectic or never ending, but for me I would describe it as a growth. My 23rd ride around the sun was definitely a year full of getting to know myself and letting myself grow as an individual.

*Personally, Physically, and Professionally*

I began to enjoy the quiet with just me and my thoughts. I started venturing places on my own without the company of a friend or family member holding my hand. The fear of being alone is not fully gone, but dimming.

An all time low on the confidence scale was achieved this year, which is what led me to my physical health journey. I needed to feel strong to see myself as strong. So, I did my own research on several different gyms and memberships, and finally talked myself into signing up for a personal trainer. I needed a change of lifestyle and it was by far the best decision I have ever made! I feel stronger, more confident, and healthier all around.

The first step on the road to my professional dreams came true in 2021. I officially earned the title of Director at my news production job. I get to direct four shows on the weekend, and believe me when I say the smile doesn’t come off my face the entire newscast (and the sweat doesn’t stop pouring down my legs either!).

I know 2022 will bring even more challenges and opportunities in my direction, but I have this strange feeling it will be another happy blink.
