Life in the Suburbs, a series
"It's not necessary to go far and wide. I mean, you can really find exciting and inspiring things within your hometown." ~Daryl Hannah
Many of my generation seem to flee our hometown here in the suburbs as soon as they possibly can. They feel trapped with no opportunities.
In my opinion, the suburbs have the most opportunity. Creativity is born in the small town schools and groceries. People are connected since birth, and know who you are. Family history is shared over several generations. Businesses are passed down. Treehouses are built where imagination takes off.
Life in the Suburbs can be the most inspiring place in the world…if you let it. To share my love for my home, I have decided to start a Life in the Suburbs photography series. I want to document the little wonders in our everyday life that we just accept, but never really appreciate or stop and look at with care.
Part I: Summer
A summer in the suburbs is full of puppies on walks, children playing in the dirt, cats claiming porches, the washing of cars, and long walks through the park.
Part II: Autumn
An autumn in the suburbs is full of plastic beware signs, blow up holiday decorations, pumpkins galore, and the remains of summer.
Everyone is always talking about who their first loves were, well mine is the suburbs. So, please no more hate on our beautiful tiny towns. They are full of great wonders…you just have to find them!
In love in the suburbs,
~Samantha Faith
